SNC

This festival welcomes up to a thousand artists and spectators from all over the world. The city comes alive with numerous street performances or shows organized in theaters and cultural centers, symposiums, exhibitions, debates or film screenings.

This festival remains the framework of artistic expression par excellence, in fields as varied as the performing arts, cinema, arts in general but also traditional sports, traditional pharmacopoeia, fashion or culinary arts.

Alongside the festive and radiant aspect of this week is the Grand Prix national des arts et des lettres (GPNAL). Presided over by a jury, its purpose is to award a prize to young talents who express themselves through the performing arts, the plastic arts, literature, speech in the national language, cinema or the culinary arts.

It is one of the most important cultural events of the country and whose objectives remain unchanged since its creation: to discover and promote the cultural heritage of Burkina Faso, to stimulate artistic and literary creation, to create a framework for exchanges between artists and men of culture from all countries. At each edition of the SNC, which is intended to be an opportunity for intercultural dialogue, a theme for reflection and creation is chosen.
