It is surrounded by Mali to the north-west, Niger to the north-east, Benin to the south-east, Togo to the south-east, Ghana to the south and Ivory Coast to the south-west. Surprisingly, geographically speaking, the map of Burkina Faso is quite similar to the map of the Central African Republic, which is also an equally landlocked territory.
