For the 2020 edition of Digital Week (SN), the French Ministry for the Development of the Digital Economy and Postal Services is inviting all the players in the ecosystem to reflect on the theme of "Artificial Intelligence: opportunities and challenges".
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a hot topic in the 21st century, yet its development is generating enthusiasm, but also great concern, and even fear, even within the high-tech sphere. These concerns are human, ethical, legal and even social.
The high-tech business sector uses machine learning for greater efficiency and competitiveness, and hence economic performance. Artificial intelligence, as a reality of our time, deserves that we appropriate it as much as possible, in order to anticipate the opportunities and possible risks associated with it.
The organization of Digital Week is a springboard where the interactions between the players in the ecosystem contribute not only to strengthening the ecosystem, but also to the development of digital culture and the promotion of a national digital expertise that contributes strongly to the advent of an inclusive information society in Burkina Faso.
The objective pursued by the choice of this theme is to encourage exchanges between the actors of the ecosystem on the applications and potential that artificial intelligence can offer.
Specifically, it aims to :
Present the concepts, technologies that support Artificial Intelligence and the actors working on it in Burkina Faso;
Focus on the results of the application of AI in various fields of activity (health, agriculture, security, astronomy, finance, ...) in Burkina Faso, Africa and the world;
Serve as a forum to define a strategy and a framework for application in priority areas;
Conduct a reflection on the opportunities and limitations of AI in Burkina Faso.
